This guide is for users planning to buy Shadowrocket on an iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps in order: search, verify, pay, install, and restore on a new device. First confirm that you have the app with ID 932747118. Then import your existing configuration. Successful payment and a working connection are separate things to check.
Before you buy: check what’s included and device compatibility
Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app for Apple platforms, available exclusively through the App Store and primarily used on iPhone and iPad. Before buying, open the App Store on your device, make sure you’re signed in to the Apple Account you’ll use for the purchase, and check that your payment method works. You’ll need to verify your purchase history to redownload the app later, so note which account completed the purchase.
A one-time app purchase is not a connectivity plan. It gives you a license to use the app; it does not automatically add a server you can connect to on Home. This guide assumes you already have your own service provider and subscription. Check connection details, subscription URLs, and expiry dates with your provider. This site does not provide, sell, or recommend connection resources.
Check the App Store listing for system requirements. If you want to use Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision, check the Compatibility section on the same product page first. Universal purchase availability is as stated on the App Store page. Don’t assume an app is compatible with a device based on its name, or treat a successful purchase on your phone as confirmation that it works on another device.
Search and verify: open the product page
In the App Store, tap Search and enter the full name Shadowrocket, then open the product page. Search result ranking doesn’t verify an app’s identity, and a similar name or icon isn’t enough to confirm it’s the right one. If you can’t find it, check the spelling and the region associated with your store account. Don’t buy an app just because it looks similar.
-
Search for the app
Open Search in the App Store, enter Shadowrocket, and tap the product page. Verify the app before you tap the price button.
-
Verify the developer
On the product page, check the developer or Seller and confirm the name is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Match the full name; the word “Shadow” alone isn’t enough.
-
Check the icon
Compare it with the official icon below: a blue-purple outlined rocket on a white background. The icon is only one of three checks; verify the developer and app ID too.
-
Verify the app ID
If you’re viewing the product through a shared link, check that its URL contains
id932747118. The App Store product link on this page uses the same ID. -
Check compatibility
Review the Compatibility section and price, then confirm your device meets the requirements. Check the App Store page for system requirements.
To go straight to the product, open the Shadowrocket App Store page. The /us/ in the URL is the storefront region; id932747118 at the end is the app ID to verify. Availability, currency, and price are determined by the App Store page and purchase confirmation screen.
Pay and download: check the App Store confirmation
Once you’ve verified the app, tap the price on its product page and review the system purchase confirmation. Check the app name, amount, currency, and payment account, then authorize with Face ID, Touch ID, or your account password as prompted. Complete verification only when requested by the system. Don’t enter a subscription URL or provider password on the App Store payment screen.
- Confirm the purchase: The purchase confirmation shows the details of this transaction. This guide doesn’t list a fixed price, since prices vary by region, currency, and store availability.
- Wait for the download: After payment, stay on the product page and check the download progress. When the Open button appears, the app is usually installed and ready to launch.
- Check your Home Screen: You can also search for Shadowrocket on the Home Screen or in the App Library. While the download is in progress, the icon may still show a progress indicator.
- Keep a record: Check the transaction in your App Store account’s Purchase History. Menu names may vary by system version; use the labels shown on your device.
If payment fails, don’t keep submitting it. First check Purchase History to see whether an order was created, then check whether the system shows a failed payment, a pending transaction, or a paused download. A pending card authorization doesn’t mean the app has been delivered, and seeing a download button doesn’t mean the download has finished. Check each status separately.
First launch: check connection requirements after installation
After opening Shadowrocket, get familiar with the three main sections: Home, Config, and Settings. Being able to open the app only confirms that the client is installed. If you haven’t added a configuration to Home yet, having no available server is normal and doesn’t mean the App Store purchase failed.
If you already have a subscription, tap “+” in the top-right corner of Home to open the add screen. Set Type to Subscribe, paste your existing subscription URL, and save it. Then use the update option shown in the app to fetch its contents. Subscription URLs often contain access credentials, so don’t post them in public forums. Ask your provider whether the URL is valid and the plan is still active.
- Home: Check that server entries have actually been created, then select the one you want to use. A subscription URL by itself isn’t usable server configuration until it has updated successfully.
- Config: Check which rule configuration is enabled. Updating a subscription and enabling a configuration are separate steps; verify both.
- System permission: When you connect for the first time, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration. Make sure the prompt is from the Shadowrocket app you’re using, then follow the system instructions to allow it.
- Settings → On Demand: On Demand can establish a connection when specified conditions are met; it won’t supply missing server details. When troubleshooting for the first time, verify a manual connection before setting up automatic connection conditions.
If a subscription update fails, don’t go back to the App Store and buy the app again. First check that the subscription URL is complete, your account is still active, and your current network can reach the URL. Your purchase history records access to the app; your provider’s configuration determines whether you can connect. Neither replaces the other.
Global Routing: understand rules, proxy, and direct connections
Global Routing determines how requests are handled; it doesn’t affect whether your App Store purchase succeeded. Before checking a page’s results, note which routing mode is selected. Here’s how Shadowrocket’s three common modes differ. They aren’t different purchase tiers.
Config
RecommendedUses the rules in the active configuration to determine how traffic is handled. Rules are typically matched from top to bottom. A matching action may be DIRECT, a proxy policy, or another configured action. Requests not matched by an earlier rule are handled by FINAL.
Best for: everyday rule-based routing when you already have and have checked a rule configuration.
Proxy
Routes requests within its scope through the proxy mode instead of applying Config’s regular rules one by one. It can help you check whether a rule choice is causing an access issue, but it can’t fix incorrect server credentials.
Best for: briefly checking whether rules are affecting traffic when you already have a working server.
Direct
Routes requests within its scope directly. If a webpage loads in this mode, that doesn’t prove the selected server is working or confirm that your subscription details are correct.
Best for: comparing direct access on your current network to isolate proxy connection issues.
Troubleshooting order: confirm installation, then test the connection
Once the product page shows Open and the app launches, focus on your existing Home configuration and Global Routing. Don’t use whether a webpage loads to decide if you need to pay again.
Scene in Global Routing applies routing choices based on the scene you configure. Right after buying, there’s no need to change Scene and On Demand at the same time. Start with manual steps you can track: note the selected server, routing mode, and access results, then add automation one setting at a time. For the full setup sequence, see the getting started guide.
Moving to a new device: redownload the app, then restore your configuration
On your new iPhone or iPad, open the App Store account page and look for the Apps or Purchased list, then search for Shadowrocket. Section names can vary across system versions. What matters is whether the list shows apps acquired with this account, not whether a particular button label appears.
- Make sure the App Store on your new device is signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase, then open your list of purchased apps.
- Find Shadowrocket, verify the developer and app ID, then tap the cloud download icon or the current redownload button.
- Wait for the download to finish, then open the app. If a price is still shown, check your account and purchase history before considering another payment.
- Check whether your existing backup or synced content has been restored. If not, reimport a configuration you saved or a subscription you already have, then check which Config is enabled.
- Reconnect and follow any system prompts to authorize the VPN configuration. Finally, check the selected server and routing mode.
Redownloading the app doesn’t restore all your configurations. Your App Store purchase history can help you recover the client, but subscription URLs, manually entered details, and rule configurations must each be checked separately. Before switching devices, keep your existing configuration details safe and make sure your backup is readable. Don’t rely on your App Store purchase history as a backup of your connection settings if your old device is no longer available.
App Store purchase and redownload FAQs
Can’t find Shadowrocket in Search?
Enter the full name in Search, then use the App Store product page linked in this guide to verify the app ID. If the store says it’s unavailable, check your account region and the product page details. Don’t try to solve a search issue by choosing an app with the same name or a similar icon.
I’ve paid, so why is the price still showing?
Open your App Store account page and check the account and original purchase history. If the payment was only authorized and the transaction wasn’t completed, the price may still appear. Check the order status before proceeding, and don’t keep tapping the payment confirmation.
The app shows Open, but why don’t I see any servers?
Open means the app is installed; it doesn’t mean you have a connection configuration. Go to Home, tap “+”, and add your existing server details or Subscribe content. After importing, select an entry and test the connection.
I bought it on iPhone. Do I need to buy it again for iPad?
On your iPad, sign in to the App Store with the account used for the original purchase and check your purchased apps. Then review compatibility and download status on the same product page. Check the App Store page for system requirements and universal purchase availability. Don’t pay again just because a price appears on the new device.
